Something To Hold Onto
Words & Music by

In many
ways it makes a difference
As I
think about my family
All the
memories so distant
They have
me questioning a hundred different things
All the
good times bring a tear into my eyes
And every
bad time makes me feel a sense of pride
And as a boy I remember a melody dancing in my head
And all the love that it sent me escaped into the heavens
A sign of hope a call of destiny
A
scattered home of love and tension
Sighs of
mixed emotions and crowded dreams
Everyone
of us looking into a slightly different picture
And
everyone of us unsure about what it means
Everybody needs something to hold onto
Everybody needs
that special place to hide
Everybody needs something to hold onto
Everybody cries
I pity
myself and then I cry like a baby
I’ve
gathered thoughts of anger filled with bad intentions
But then
I realize there’s no easy way to judge him
But I
can’t help seeing a man that never cared a less
I just
don’t know how to feel anymore
When I
find myself thinking about where the hell you are
Everybody needs something to hold onto
Everybody needs
that special place to hide
Everybody needs something to hold onto
Everybody cries
