Just The Other Day
Words & Music by Edgar Montes De Oca
copyright Sept 95’
I saw
myself in the mirror today
And I was
wondering how long it’s gonna take
To want
myself to change myself to be myself
To know
myself but somehow I can’t re-arrange
I need it
I want it I know it’s my decision
To be
lonely to be happy anyway
But everyday
as I go on my egos back my self won’t grow
I can’t
understand a single word I say
I thought I saw her just the other day
And the rush throughout my body made me wild
I know we’re part of history
no one knows it more than me
But I’d give anything for one more smile
I’m gonna
get it together I know I can
I’m as
good as any man
I’m gonna
clear my senses notice everything
All the
pieces the colors from the mountain
The
pieces fall below me as the colors fade away
Maybe
that’s what the law means
The
poets’ trying to tease me
And all
this time I just can’t face the truth
I thought I saw her just the other day
And the rush throughout my body made me wild
I know we’re part of history
no one knows it more than me
But I’d give anything for one more smile
I nearly lost my mind you know
I saw her just the other day
I wonder if I’ll ever compromise
I lost that love so long ago
Apart of me just can’t let go and
I’d give anything for one more smile
