A reflection of Sept 11th
2001
Well I never been to New
England but one day I may just go
When I was a kid I loved to
play football
Was one of the best and
fastest on my team
And so the novel flows, we
write the book as we pass on through
Everyone has their glory
days
Hearts filled with laughter,
love and faith
And on 9 -11 The Towers came
down
Turned this whole great
nation around
There was blood on the
streets, tears in our eyes
Every mother, child and good
man
The whole world was stunned
as NYC took center stage
And as we solemnly held our
American spirits high
We picked up the pieces and
never said die
For all those who died
and the many who give

Day after day together we

And my childhood team The
New England Patriots
Miraculously headed for that
Super Bowl dream
Teamwork creates true magic
A symbol of perfection
The fairytale come true
And the Spirit of the
American eagle flew high above our fields
And I stood sullen, proud
and amazed
at all these current events
so surreal
